Tesla Dominates March EV Sales — Crushing the Competition
In March, Tesla registered over 51,000 electric vehicles, leaving all competitors in the dust. Despite a modest 1.1% month-over-month growth, Tesla’s numbers towered over rivals like Chevrolet (8,478) and Ford (7,361).
Even though Chevrolet surged with a massive 274% growth, and Ford declined by 13%, Tesla remained untouchable in raw volume. Hyundai, BMW, and Rivian followed in the 5,000 range, but couldn’t come close.
Several brands showed explosive growth:
- Fiat +208%
- GMC +185%
- Subaru +163%
- Porsche +137%
Meanwhile, legacy brands like Jaguar, Maserati, and Ram struggled to stay relevant, each with fewer than 50 vehicle registrations.
Bottom line? Tesla is still king of EVs, and no one is even close — yet.
